Eurydactylodes are omnivores with a diet that mirrors other New Caledonian gecko species — a combination of fruit-based CGD and live insects. Their small size means they require smaller portions and smaller prey items than crested or Chahoua geckos, but the nutritional principles are the same.

Gecko Diet (CGD) — The Staple
A high-quality CGD powder mixed to a smooth paste forms the nutritional foundation of a Eury’s captive diet. Serve in a very small dish or bottle cap — Eurydactylodes are tiny and standard-sized feeding ledges can be too large.
- Pangea Fruit Mix — palatable and nutritionally complete. Smaller geckos often respond well to the Fig & Insect formula for its higher protein content.
- Repashy Crested Gecko MRP — a trusted, complete formula suitable for all New Caledonian geckos including Eurydactylodes.
- Gecko Nutrition — premium CGD well suited to smaller New Caledonian species.
Replace uneaten CGD every 24–48 hours. Use small amounts to avoid waste and prevent spoilage in the warm, humid enclosure.
Live Feeder Insects
Live prey is an important part of the Eurydactylodes diet and provides essential enrichment. Because of their small size, prey must be appropriately sized — this is particularly important for Eurys.
- Micro crickets and small crickets — the most practical staple live feeder; gut-load well and dust with calcium before offering
- Small black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) — excellent calcium source; use regularly
- Waxworms (small) — high fat; occasional treat only
- Fruit flies (Drosophila) — useful for hatchlings and very small juveniles
Always size feeders no wider than the space between the gecko’s eyes. For hatchlings and juveniles, fruit flies and micro crickets are essential — standard feeder insects are far too large.
Supplements
- Calcium without D3 — dust live feeders at every feeding
- Calcium with D3 — use 1–2 times per month if no UVB is provided
- Multivitamin — use once every 1–2 weeks

Water
Eurydactylodes primarily drink water droplets from misting, but a very small, shallow water dish should also be available — ensure it is shallow enough that a small gecko cannot drown in it. Change water daily. A consistent misting routine is essential for hydration.
