Sarasinorum Gecko Diet

Sarasinorum geckos (Correlophus sarasinorum) are omnivores with a diet very similar to crested geckos in captivity — a combination of fruit-based CGD and live insects. They are generally enthusiastic feeders and adapt readily to a variety of CGD brands and flavours.

Crested Gecko Diet (CGD) — The Staple

A high-quality CGD powder mixed to a smooth paste forms the nutritional foundation of the Sarasinorum gecko’s captive diet. Mix with water and serve in a small dish or on a magnetic feeding ledge.

Replace uneaten CGD every 24–48 hours to prevent spoilage.

Live Feeder Insects

Live prey is an important nutritional and enrichment component of the Sarasinorum gecko diet. They tend to be active, keen hunters and respond well to live feeding.

  • Crickets — a reliable staple feeder; gut-load well and dust with calcium before offering
  • Dubia roaches — highly nutritious and easy to keep; an excellent staple option
  • Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) — excellent calcium source; use regularly
  • Locusts — a good variety feeder
  • Waxworms — high fat; occasional treat only

Always size feeders no wider than the space between the gecko’s eyes.

Supplements

  • Calcium without D3 — dust live feeders at every feeding
  • Calcium with D3 — use 1–2 times per month if no UVB is provided
  • Multivitamin — use once every 1–2 weeks

Water

Always provide a shallow dish of fresh water, changed every 1–2 days. Sarasinorum geckos also drink water droplets from misting, so a consistent evening misting routine is important for hydration as well as humidity.
