Why use an elevated feeding ledge?

Arboreal geckos naturally feed at height — in the wild, crested and gargoyle geckos encounter fruit and invertebrates on branches and leaves, not on the ground. Placing food in an elevated ledge replicates this natural behaviour, encourages activity, and keeps the diet cleaner by reducing contact with substrate and waste. It also makes it much easier to monitor how much your gecko has eaten each night.

Suction cups work well on clean, dry glass and are a cost-effective, easy-to-reposition option. For standard enclosures that aren't heavily misted, suction cup mounting is perfectly reliable. How do I apply the suction cups correctly?

Apply to clean, grease-free glass for the strongest hold. Wipe the glass surface dry before pressing the cups firmly into position. Avoid applying directly to wet or freshly misted glass. Check periodically and reapply if the cups begin to loosen. The smooth ledge surface can be wiped clean with a reptile-safe disinfectant between feeds.
