INSTRUCTIONS

Mix one part powder into not more than three parts water and stir until blended. Microwave until it starts to boil, remove and stir. Alternatively, bring water to a boil on the stove, remove from heat, and stir in powder. Let cool, or immediately pour into a storage container or mould and let sit at room temperature until firm. The finished gel can be cut into cubes, shredded, or used as a whole slab. Whatever is not used immediately should be treated as fresh food — store sealed in the fridge for up to two weeks, or in the freezer for up to six months. Do NOT use more than three parts water or over-hydration can occur.

The principle is simple: a well-fed, nutritious insect passes those nutrients on to your gecko. This is called gutloading, and it's one of the most effective ways to improve the nutritional quality of live prey.

Any gecko that receives live insect feeders benefits indirectly from Bug Burger, including:

How do I use Bug Burger?

Make it up as a gel (see instructions above) and offer it to your feeder insects at least 24–48 hours before feeding them to your geckos. The gel format feeds and hydrates your insects simultaneously — no need for separate water sources, which can drown small insects. Cut into small cubes or slabs and place directly in the insect tub.

Do I still need to dust insects with calcium if I use Bug Burger?

Yes — Bug Burger improves the overall nutritional profile of your feeder insects, but dusting with a calcium supplement like Repashy Calcium Plus at the point of feeding is still recommended. Gutloading and dusting work together for the best results.
